Me&Mi
Hi there,I was wondering what we need to do (I'm based in Ireland) if we want to drive our car in France for a year. I think our Insurance will only cover us for 3 months but does anyone know what I can do while I'm in Ireland - before we take the plunge - please? Nick Trollope
I don't know how Irish Insurance companies work, but I guess that it is more like UK rather than French ones (where EU cover is 12 months). Why not ask your Insurer? In the UK, some companies will give you a 12M "green card" - at a cost.I believe that, under EU regs, all cover must be EU-wide at all times. However (in the case of UK companies) this is "minimum legal" & not much use.
