Importing a British car

We took my two and a half year old Citroen Pluriel to the Citroen Garage in Hesdin to have the new french headlights fitted.  The Directeur called us to his office and showed us a file of British drivers who had re-registered their vehicles and explained that he could do this for us for a fee of approximately 120 euros.  He took copies of our log books (new and old), passports, driving licence, insurance and EDF bill.  He arranged for the controle technique to be done immediately.  We will receive our new number plates in approximately three weeks time.  There has been no having to drive to St Pol (to the hotel d'Impots), no drive to Bethune and no driving to Arras - It has all been done for us by Citroen.  Well worth 120 euros.  We did of course have to pay for the number plate and bureaucratic bits - it came to just over 400 euros including the 120 euros.
