Catalpa
That is... Ferguson tractors of a late 50s vintage rather than careworn ex-members of the Royal family (and that's Royal without an 'e') So, potential misunderstandings out of the way...[;-)]Has anyone brought over from the UK and successfully re-registered a Ferguson tractor vintage late 1950s? We've got one, it has been stunningly reliable since its acquisition in the late 60s, it's the right size for what we want, pulls the right size of trailer... but is it worth bringing over? Transporting it won't be a problem btw so that factor doesn't influence us.Thoughts please. [:D]
Sunday Driver
The only way you can import and register your tractor is to have it classified as a "voiture de collection". That way you are exempt from type approval which would be a major obstacle for you.You need to contact the Federation Francaise des Vehicles de L'Epoque (FFVE) and submit a request for an attestation d'identite. The vehicle must be over 25 years old and you have to supply photographs of it. They will issue you with the attestation which is the equivalent of a single vehicle type approval certificate. This will suffice for immatriculation through your prefecture.Further details can be found on the FFVE's website HERE
