Jc
Makes you realize that there must be thousands of un-insured people driving around who do not understand that they have to their insurance company all these details.
Ron Avery

I believe all of French insurers will not allow any driver to drive your car if they have not held a FULL driving permit for a minimum of 3 years
Our kids have driven our cars or their own cars from day one after passing their tests. We inform our insurer and chose to pay a franchise if they had an accicent.
I've just changed to CA, my previous insurer wanted to know about every new driver. With CA it is slightly diiferent or perhaps the same thing as Miki mentioned, except age was not mentioned, only the time a full driving license has been held which I suppose equates to the same thing. Anyone can drive my car with my permission, but if anyone who drives it without holding a license for 5 years, the franchise (excess) nearly trebles
Sunday Driver
SD, one does not have to pay a large increase on the premium, if one takes the route we have always taken.
I did mention a large increase in the excess, not an increase in the premium.....[;-)]
Miki
Beg yer pardon SD, I somehow thought that a large excess meantthat higher payment was due for the insurance premium. Havingcalled what you say is an excess, a Franchise for so long I wasbefuddled. [8-)]I dont know though about treble increase or whatever percentage, one ofour cars went from nil to €900 on the Franchise for a named driver, with a permis held for under 3 years !!
