Lautrec
Is it correct, that if you own one of those small low powered French cars which always seem to be in front of you, going very slowly and holding up the traffic, you do not need to have a driving licence to drive one!. Fact or fiction?
Dick Smith
Fact, but I'd wait for Sunday Driver to answer if I was you!My favourite was a sans-permis with two 20-stone women in it, going up a hill whilst they were lighting cigarettes. It was a 110kph road and they were doing maybe 40kph...
Tony F Dordogne
Certainly correct, sans permis. They are much favoured by those older people who have lost their licence because of health problems or those disqualified by Courts, usually for drink driving. They are not now an easy option - insurance companies look on the ability to avoid judicial/prefecteurial licence revocation pretty seriously, so whilst the car is relatively inexpensive to buy and to run, insurance costs can be seriously expensive because of the driver's previous. For somebody with a serious criminal conviction, start thinking around 1000/1500 euros.
