Katieb
This may seem a trivial question but it is just another thing for me to worry about.......when we move to France (dept 72) next month, is it advisable for my husband to remove the UK 3 pin plugs on all our appliances (on everything from the fridge/freezer to my hair straighteners!) and replace them with french 2 pin plugs, in which case we will be making a hasty trip to the supermarket for a bulk purchase of plugs.Thanking you in anticipation!Kate
Dick Smith
Assuming you are moving from the UK it is fine - but get earthed plugs for earthed (3-wire) appliances. They have 2 male and 1 female contacts.
Val_2
Yes,very important to get the right plug here to put on your items and not just any old two pin.

cheryl
When we moved here, we brought a couple of UK 4 gang extensions, then fitted a French plug on them. That meant we didn't have to rush round fitting new plugs on everything straight away.Cheryl
