mike151
is a special ct station required as in england for 3 1/2 tonne vans ?
Bobk
Mike,I have a 3.5 ton van (LDV Convoy) and just booked a appointment at the local CT station. The CT guy never asked the weight of the van as there are several models from 2.1t upwardsCheersBob
Sunday Driver
Vehicles up to 3,500kg go to a normal CT station. Those over 3,500kg go to an HGV testing station. The CT guy will check the PTAC on your carte grise before proceeding with the test.
mike151
thanks for that info, old vw lt 35's also come in a range of weights. forgot to mention it doesn't have a carte grise as it is on english plates, does this matter?
Bobk
Mike,I obtained a CT while the van had English plates with no problems - I understand that you need a CT before you can register it here. The CT cost €55 for the van.
Sunday Driver
You'll need to produce your V5C registration document for the CT and the certificate will be issued under the UK registration number. When you get your new carte grise, it will show the previous (ie UK) registration number which then cross references to the CT, so there's no need to get a replacement certificate. mike151
sounds great! another thing thats cheaper than britain, & probably not as strict.
Chas
Presumably as with a camping car of similar size you need an emissions check in alternate years.
