Beemer1150
I read somwhere (this forum?) that from 2008 it would no longer be necessary to re-register vehicles when moving to a new department and that vehicles would retain their original immatriculation. However a neighbour has just re-registeed his car after moving here, and I see no evidence of any fewer 17 plates. Just curious, because although we're moving soon it now turns out we'll still be in the same Dept (just!).
Bernice
The new system starts in 2009. You can read about it here - http://plaque.free.fr/f_new1_e.html Bernice

Twingoman
I think that orginally the new system was going to be introduced on 1st January 2008, but it was delayed for a year.
Sunday Driver
Although the plates will remain the same, you will still have to register a change of ownership or address - and pay the necessary fees......[:(]
Ron Avery
There is no charge for a change of address.
