Scottish Filly Posted April 7, 2008 Share Posted April 7, 2008 I have read the admin post on importing and registering vehicles and I can't believe how simple it sounds. I live in Spain at present and will be moving to France with a Spanish registered vehicle. Is there any time for which one must own the vehicle prior to importing in to France in order to avoid any import taxes. I know Portugal has to be 12 months, even for EU vehicles and residency in the country of origen for that 12 month period has to be proven by producing utility bills, bank statements etc.If things are so simple in France - fantastic!Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sunday Driver Posted April 8, 2008 Share Posted April 8, 2008 The only import tax that is applicable in France is VAT which is due on imported vehicles classified as a New Means of Transport, ie under six months old and/or with less than 6,000kms on the clock.
