dave21478
Aye, petrol was down to 1.30 a litre last time I filled up, It had been as high as 1.55 at the same place a few weeks previously. Its an improvement, but hardly something to celebrate. Shove it back to 90`s prices, under 50p per litre, then I will celebrate.
Mr Coeur de Lion
Whatever they have done to put the price back down, why didn't they do it two months ago? Ah, greed, of course. Governments have made a fortune from this.
allanb
We should say "thank you" to all those nice speculators. They get the blame when the price goes up: clearly they must get the credit when it comes down again.
andyh4
.................and the bad news is that thanks to the Russia/Goergia war prices this morning have leapt 5c in Germany. I cannot imagine France will be immune

Certainly theirintention is to make a profit, and they are no more likely to be nicepeople than anyone else. But by entering into contracts which theyhope will make profits, and thereby accepting the risk of losses, theyprovide a useful service for ordinary business: it's a bit likeproviding insurance, and that's a fairly respectable activity.
