cooperlola
Following the demise of my previous car - to which I reckon I owe my life....it was suggested in another thread by Mr S Driver, that maybe a Mk I Escort Mexico would be a good choice for my next vehicle.[:D]What do you lot reckon? Budget unlimited, btw (not mine, you understand, but just for fun).
Chancer
Crikey! That is some damage, you are so lucky but I reckon you have well earned the good fortune, what goes around comes around etc..I wish you well once again with your recovery.Does the above damage come into the category that you girls use of "darling I have put a little scratch on the car!" [:D]
Pierre ZFP
Wow that is truly awesome. What car was it? It must have some serious protection for you to get out of that one!I think it's not so much 'a little scratch' as 'I can confirm that the airbags definitely work'!! powerdesal
Bl**dy H**l Coops, how on earth did you survive that? You must have led an exemplary life.
Hoddy
Using your survival as an example, I think we should all go out and buy one of whatever that was before it was wrecked.Hoddy
Sunday Driver
Perhaps Coops should go out and buy whatever it was that did it to her car....

f1steveuk
That is a mess, shows the deformable/crush areas of modern cars work. As regards the Escort, I would in a heartbeat! But maybe an RS1600 (maybe too much money) or an RS2000 (MKI) , but the Mexico was a little gutless. Lotus Cortina would be good as well. Strikes me, anyhting rear wheel drive with a modicum of power would be fun!

cooperlola
Yummy, S/D. MkI Lotus Cortina also sounds like a plan....[:D]Funny though how safety never entered into my choice of car but I do remember pointing out to the o/h (after I had bought my first Micra - also new shape) how well it did in crash tests. I never thought I'd be so grateful for it though. How much small cars have advanced over the years in this regard.
woolybanana
Debs, I decided that, however much you are slavering over the others, number 26 might be best on the grounds of high visibility;http://www.google.fr/imgres?imgurl=http://www.fatfreecars.co.uk/Pictures/Noddy.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.fatfreecars.co.uk/Beautiful.htm&h=175&w=221&sz=8&tbnid=iQ6Upukb-E0J::&tbnh=85&tbnw=107&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dnoddy%2527s%2Bcar&hl=fr&usg=__-JPtoZOffrDKlz080pq04djsWWc=&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=4&ct=image&cd=
