Multiple speed limit panels

Does a speed limit panel with a 'Poids Lourd' sign underneath cancel an earlier speed limit applying to all vehicles?

Near here we have the following signs on a double bend on a hill preceding a village;

1   70 kph limit in advance

2   50 kph at the first bend

3   50 kph with 'Poids Lourd' underneath, half way between the two bends

4   Start of village

5   End of village

Recent improvements have added some blue and white chevrons to mark the double bends and the 50/PL sign at point 3 on the uphill section only.  Prior to that the speed limit all the way from the first part of the bend to the end of the village was clearly 50 kph.  But now, I'm not clear exactly what the speed limit is between points 3 and 4 for a regular car.  Since it is a fairly frequent site for radar checks I would like to be clear.  There is no similar 50/PL sign on the downhill bit so the 50 kph limit applies to all vehicles over the whole section.

Any thoughts?

You do not state whether these signs are mandatory (with a red circle round them) or advisory.
