Bluebell
May I have your thoughts on this question I was asked today -I purchased a car over 12 months ago and it has no Carte Grise. I have some other papers to prove ownership. The car, a 1959 Austin A40 Farina, is a long way from being ready for a CT. I would like to keep the existing registration number but it is for a different department from where we live in France. What do I need to do? AnOther
Good luck with the registration when you're ready but I'm pretty sure there is no way you'll be able to keep the number.
Anton Redman
Short of finding a long lost Cousin/e who will let you pay their electric bill in another Department then let you register the car in their house you will eed new plates
AnOther
But even then you'll only get the department number won't you, not retain the original. It's all changing in April anyway.
