Benjamin
Is it customary in France to provide your own insurance when hiring a van (or car for that matter)? If so how do you go about doing it? Is it just a matter of getting your insurance company to issue a cover note for a short period of time?
Sunday Driver
I think you'll find the vehicle will be covered by the hire company's insurance, the same as anywhere else.

Benjamin
Thanks for the responses. The reason for asking was that a couple of years ago we enquired about hiring a camper car. The price was so expensive that we didn't get into too much detail but the company seemed to intimate that we should provide our own vehicle insurance.
