JohnRoss
Got a controle technique for the old banger next week and I have noticed that three of the four hub caps, plastic Renault, are cracked, one badly so. Is this grounds for failure and if so can I just remove them before the test or are they obligatory?...................JR
AnOther
I don't think Bling is part of the CT but it's possible if you leave them on and they are insecure they could be regarded as unsafe but presumably they only pull off anyway so not difficult to whip off on the spot if necessary. Jonzjob
Am I missin out 'ere? My alloys ain't got 'ub caps!I really can't see them failing a car for not having them or most of the cars here would fail. Then again I wonder how some of them are still on the road anyway! JohnRoss
Well found wheel trims at Roadys at 4.90 each and got 4. Not as well made as the Renault originals but will do the job. MOT today and hope it gets through though have me doubts. Think I got flashed by one of those sneaky parked disguised police cars on the way back. In a line of traffic all going at the same speed coming out of Niort, 60 in a 50 limit, but with a gap between me and the car in front so probably why it picked on me! Wonder how much that is going to cost me, turning out to be an expensive day! Blah......................................JRPS Found this on the net can anyone explain the terms marked *Excès de vitesse inférieur à 20 km/h (si la vitesse maximum autorisée est égale ou inférieure à 50 km/h) :Amendeforfaitaire *Amende forfaitaireminorée *Amendeforfaitairemajorée *AmendemaximaleRetrait de pointsSuspensionde permis(maximum)135 €90 €375 €-1-

Sunday Driver
When you receive the ticket in the post from the central fines office, just fill it in and pay the fine as instructed. If you have a French licence, the point is automaticaly deducted from your licence record on the central computer so you have nothing to do. If you have a foreign licence, then you are legally required to exchange it for a French one so the points penalty can be applied, but they don't normally go to the bother of chasing you for this where a single point is involved.....
