Roli
Hi All,Does anyone know anything about selling houses by auction in France and possibly who I might contact to do this?I know that the local notaire holds auctions of goods, but are there any auction houses which deal in property specifically? If so how do they work, can you put on a reserve like in UK? (please don't suggest ebay!)Regards to everyone (great forum)Roli
derf
Have a look at this link.http://www.frenchentree.com/fe-property/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=2839I went to an auction a couple of years ago with friends who bought a repossession, it's not for the faint hearted and has they did you ought to have a French lawyer to do the bidding for you, our's was done with coloured bulbs rather than candles as stated in the link and anyone can come up with a better price in the ten days following the auction so it's not easy.if you do not use a lawyer, your French has to be up to it and then a bit more.
