cooperlola
In previous years there has been a space on the green slip which comes with the insurance vignette, to sign for when you take a car abroad. This year the format has changed and I just can't find where to sign it. I'm probably just looking in the wrong place....[8-)]

cooperlola
What have you done, Clare? Just signed it anywhere or not bothered?
Clair
There's nowhere to sign, so I've just left it alone! [:D]I won't be needing it until the end of the month anyway, but I have not compared it to the current one in the car.
AnOther
Recently discussed HEREMy opinion: required or not whilst a Gendarme might pick you up for not signing it if he thinks you have to he'd be pretty hard pressed to make anything out of you signing it if he thinks or knows that you don't.Just sign it, end of.........[;-)]
cooperlola
Thanks ANO. But I don't get the gendarmes reference as I believed this to be for the international, not domestic, portion of the insurance document - at least that's what I gather when I look at the 2009 version (which is in front of me.)There is nowhere to sign the new one, btw. AnOther
It's alleged that some Gendarmes believe that you should sign the vignette even when driving in France so we both sign both parts of both vignettes for both of our current cars. It might not be right but it can't possibly be wrong [;-)]Another point I made in the thread I linked to:'Authorised drivers should also not sign thus removing the one and only piece of evidence that a Gendarme has that you are probably legitimately driving a car not belonging to you. I say 'probably' because of course a thief could also sign it but I think that rather unlikely 'Maybe me just thinking too far ahead though, I do that sometimes [blink]
