bonoeuf
Hello all, does anyone know if my licence will cover me for trailer towing when I transfer from my brit one to a French one. I passed my test years ago so can legally tow in the UK, I also have a class one HGV entitlement which I will keep as long as I can just in case. A friend was told he would have to do a test as he had not passed a test for the trailer towing in the UK. Does the class one HGV C+E cover me? I want to be able to tow our bikes around and as the gross weight might be over the 500kg I don't want a tug off the gendarmes.Marty
AnOther
As I understand it until you reach age 70 your entitlements will be exactly as they are but even after that on a French licence you would only need to have a medical to retain entitlement to up to 3500kg.Towing a 500kg trailer should never be a problem whatever your age although I'm sure you know that if in excess of that then it would need it's own registration.Tugging off a Gendarme is not to be recommended, unless invited of course [;-)]
