CharenteMaritimeGite
I've seen one or two posts here regarding Camping Cars, but is this the right forum? I have in mind general discusions and information/advice/opinions on things like Aires, places to visit, events etc.Specifically at the moment - where to park a Camping Car on the southern outskirts of Paris so that we can give our American family visitors a taste of the capital? pachapapa
Racerbear02
Sorry pachapa, but Bois de Boulogne is not only campsite in Paris, there is also one south east at Champigny sur Marne www.campingparis.fr they are part of the same organisation I think.I have stayed at both, Bois de Boulogne is closer to the city centre, literally a good stroll, but the other one has a regular bus service to the RER station at Joinville le Pont with very regular trains into Paris. This one is now my preferred choice as although not as central, it is easier to access with a big camper.

If you take the trouble to actually read my post you will see I wrote as follows...." only camping site within the capital"There is an important difference between Department 75 and Department 94 but then I presume you would also place Disneyland and perhaps even Beauvais within LA CAPITALE. Racerbear02
Sorry pachapa, don't do squatters or subletting [:)]The OP specifically asked for the Southern outskirts of Paris, I feel that this campsite answers that description somewhat better than the Bois de Boulogne, OK it is in 94 but is literally the other side of the Marne from Paris proper. You presume too much, I don't work for Ryanair and therefore do not consider Beauvais as Paris, nor do I consider Disneyland to be Paris even though the nice Mr O'Leary says Disneyland is serviced by Vatry airport, being described as Vatry Paris on their site, when it is however, nearer to Reims than Paris.I endeavoured to answer the OP's question as best I could, and as the website for the campsite is www.campingparis.fr and it does lie just 0.5km from Paris I feel that my response should not justify such a supercilious reply from your good self.
