Les véhicules d'occasion ne sont pas soumis au bonus / malus écologique (mais ils sont soumis à à la surtaxe CO2) à l'exception toutefois de ceux importés de l'étranger qui font l'objet d'une première immatriculation en France à compter du 1er janvier 2008.Il ne s'agit néanmoins que des véhicules importés, immatriculés pour la première fois à l'étranger à compter du 1er janvier 2008.I have to say that I cannot make any sense out of the last sentence above.I translate this as meaning that the ecotaxe is payable on a second-hand import as the date of first registration in France will be in 2011, and not the date the vehicle was first registered anywhere in the EU, is this assumption correct?
