chicken
I'm sorry if this issue has been covered before. I am considering buying a new kangoo van (two seats) from the UK and importing it into France where I am resident. I won't be paying VAT on it in the UK but will be require to pay TVA. I have noticed whilst searching on French site that TVA may be "recuperable" on utility vehicles. Could that be the case for a new one imported from the UK.Thanks so much for any advice. Sunday Driver
Provided you are registered for TVA and the vehicle is type approved as a camionette, then the TVA is 'recuperable' as input tax throught your quarterly return.
chicken
Thanks Sunday DriverSo I can only recuperate the TVA if I'm a business. What if I'm just an ordinary worker?REgards

AnOther
If by 'ordinary worker' you mean an employee of some sort then the termwould apply to the vast majority of the French of working population so canyou imagine what the streets of every town and village in the land would be full of if they could allautomatically recuperate the TVA by buying a van instead of a car [blink]
