WendyG
Hi everyoneBought 6 volt battery after all.Now they have discovered that the starter motor is faulty - just a faint hope that someone out there might have a starter motor for the TE20 lying around! If anyone has or knows of one, would be very grateful.WendyG

nomoss
Surely there are still automotive electricians around who know how to repair a starter motor.

nomoss
My post was serious, it may just need a set of brushes and/or a commutator skim or repair. Ask your local garage - preferably someone older than about 50. Starter motors are built like brick outhouses, especially old ones.If you are convinced you need to replace the starter motor, maybe you should first find out which petrol engine is fitted in your tractor.
