Chris H
I'm interested in buying a property and possibly splitting into half holiday home and half to let.I've found plenty of info on renting as holiday let but very little on long term let to locals. I'm familiar with the laws on this but not sure if it's a worth while option or how to go about it - I presume that most French estate agencies will act as a letting agent. Are there any tax implications on rental income.Any advise greatly recieved!Chris
Jc
The agent will take his percentage and the government takes their cut-we were told about 30% but you can set your expenses against it.
Shane
Have you thought about letting to house hunters or people waiting to complete on a house purchase, can take 3 months or more. We run web sites specifically aimed at this market and we receive enquiries daily from people looking for such a rental at a reasonable price.Ofcourse your income is taxable but that is based on personal circumstances, income and expenditure ofcourse.
