Mrs Trellis
About to get numberplates for newly reg. car. What's a reasonable price to pay (each)? I've been told the local garage is a bit pricey but need a rough idea.
AnOther
About €25/pair seem to be the going rate in my experience.

More like 30 to 35 euros, including rivetting them on.
Benjamin
I've been told the local garage is a bit pricey
Unless you're a competent mechanic your local garagiste is your friend. Sure, he may be a bit more than the national chains but then he can be a lot more flexible and helpful.I first of all took my camper to him because the F**t dealer in the nearest town was known for being unhelpful. We got on well and I tried him for my next car service with a very satisfactory outcome, Remember, his clientele is very local: he can't afford to do a bad job or very soon he wont have a business.
