dave21478
Just thought about this the other day...... out of all the cars I have registered, the prefecture have kept all the CofC's. Since I pay 180euros for each of those bloody bits of paper, surely, I should be getting them back? What happens to it after registration. - do they go to some central office?, perhaps get returned to the manufacturer? or my personal belief, do they just get put in a filing cabinet in the prefecture basement and never see the light of day again?Does anyone know for sure? woolybanana
There is a government department, part of the ministry of transport, located in Arras which keeps them all, under secure conditions, air conditioned etc with a workforce of 550. Each CofC has been digitalized, and each year they bring out statistical reports on various aspects, besides checking the paper versions in case there is an electronic wipeout. The building is located just outside the city, say 4 kms, on the Calais road. I think it is called Ministère de Transport, dépot de documents, securisé. It has a huge barbed wire fence around it.
