Frank
Hi everyone, hope someone can help! Didn't know where to ask this, so put it here. Has anyone out there got or had a citroen zx estate car '96 and managed to get a tow bar fitted by themselves, please (not dealer)? I have looked all over mine and can't see where to attach the bar as no bolts on underside of car. All handbook says is take it to citroen dealer for a towbar. Many thanks in advance for any help, Jimmy
Chancer
You wont find any bolts, you may find captive nuts but more likely just holes through the chassis rails that may well be covered with a thin piece of ally tape before the underbody treatment hence practically invisible.Stop worrying, buy a towbar and all will be revealed, since 98 i think when the new directive came in all towbars have to use the manufacturers pick up points. Before anyone points out that the ZX and practically all modern vehicles dosent have a chassis I used the generic term "chassis rail' to describe the longitudinal floor box sections of the monocoque.
