Kylie
Can anyone help, live in France but just bought a 1997 Audi A3 in the UK (cheaper) Not knowing the difference between German and Swiss German both us and the garage owner thought it was German. Turns out it's Swiss and that is not in the E.U so we can't get a certificate of conformity to enable us to register in France.Has anyone had to deal with this any advise would be welcome as I don't know where to go first for information. nomoss
The formalities are listed here http://vosdroits.service-public.fr/particuliers/F19222.xhtmlIf you look at the first of the Questions ? Réponses ! on the RHS, you will see that the Déclaration de cession should be replaced by a facture d'achat proving you bought it outside France. As the car is registered in a non-EEE country you will need a Certificat de dédouanement 846 A from a French customs office. I suggest enquiring when you arrive in France.Regardless of where the car was previously registered, so long as the vehicle is of a type imported into France there should be no problem getting a C of C from the French importer (or manufacturer).
