rigby
Have had a new Peugeot for two weeks in France and twenty minutes in Barcelona - Car has bright red registration plates which I now understand are "temporary" and issued to Tourist Transit customers among others. Plates are a sign saying "I am a tourist - rob me". Have had the tires slashed within twenty minutes of pick up in Paris and within twenty minutes of arrival in Barcelona. If you're thinking of leasing a new car long term in France - don't do it. sid
The plates say that you are taking the car out of the country (France). Could be any of a hundred reasons for getting vandalised, like a flashy make/model of car, or even how you were driving it!You have export plates then, so why not get the car registered in your country of residence and perhaps you'll be less conspicuous? Pickles
I'm sad to say that re Barcelona, I am not in the least surprised - it is apparently VERY common for tourist cars from ANYWHERE to be attacked in that way. Paris? Hmmm ...depends where, but there are mindless idiots everywhere these days.
