Locking wheel bolt removal tool

A friend has taken his car to have new tyres fitted but there is a problem with one of the locking bolts. The garage has quoted him 2 hours labour / 150 euros to remove the bolt.

In the UK you can buy this type of socket:

which act on the outside of the bolt. I presume these are available in France, if so best type of place to buy them and what are they called?

The garage are taking the piss.

Even without the removal tool, any decent garage should have the bolt off in minutes.

I had to get 4 off my C2 a while back, and modern PSA ones are designed to shear off the head if tampered with, leaving just a flat face. Even in this case its a couple of minutes work to weld an old nut onto it and remove with a normal spanner.

For the type that have the offset pins in the removal nut the main reason they get broken is because of the tyre removal places using air hammer guns. The hammer action breaks the small pins in the nut! I had exactly that situation, but was lucky enough that the removal nut still worked even although 2 of the pins were broken. It was cheaper to buy a new set of bolts for my C4 than get a new removal nut..

This is the tool mentioned above and it's a female version of the old 'Easyout' tools. Easier for some of us to read in English
