dragonrouge
This morning I went to Super U and saw a special offer for 40 L bags of compost for 1 euro. The offer started today and for one week. I presume its also at Hyper U. Looking at the contents there cannot be much in it for that but there is certainly no peat so I think its very good if not great value for money. I am going back tomorrow for some more. It was flying out of the store today.
babcock
Let us know if it is not that stuff that smells like old clothes. Saw a French couple today with his and hers trollys loaded to the gunnels with the stuff.
dragonrouge
Dear Babcock now you have worried me. I am just using it for planting some new trees and thought at one euro it would do the job.The stuff you know has a reputation? regards
Mr C
Maybe it is just in my department, but I thought it was national... the Decheterie does free compost here, it comes from the food waste bin we have collected every week, and you can get as much or as little as you like. Some people take vans-full of the stuff... and I also heard of one local garden centre that sells it...They say it is well treated - and I trust it because everyone uses it so no-one will abuse it (by putting nasty plant-killing things in their brown bin!!)
