cooperlola
This thread made me laugh as I'm in the UK at the mo' and about to set off in the morning. In my boot are 6 boxes of Sainsbury's taste the difference oatmeal and ginger biscuits. [:P] Funny the things we miss.
Doodle
We love ginger nuts too but in the absence of being able to find any here and no recent uk visitors, we have discovered Specaloos - not ginger in fact not sure what they are possibly cinnamon but quite acceptable and can be successfully dunked! Alpinemist
Where we are we couldn't get Marmite. We were in a bar talking to some tourists visiting from the UK and this somehow came up. I think they said do you miss anything from England and expected us to say family but we said Marmite ! Anyways they left and 2 weeks later 6 jars of Marmite turned up in the post. How nice some people are.
Tancrède
…they said do you miss anything from England and expected us to say family but we said Marmite !
I heartily concur with your sense of priorities and am glad to report that, in this part of France at least, Carrefour has timidly begun to stock small containers of Marmite. I bought three or four jars to give them a sense of encouragement.

Doodle
Bernice, just bought a packet yesterday and you are right delicious and crunchy - much larger than the speculoos so don't need so many to a cup!Chris
minnie
Travelled back yesterday. I'd given up thoughts of bringing them in hand luggage due to possible security issues. Lo and behold I got airside and found several packets in the WH Smith shop.....great
Rob Roy
You can buy McVitie Ginger Nuts in our local SuperU, but they are expensive compared to the UK price. I usually get a dozen own brand packets brought over by friends - I love dunking them in coffee but I try and tell people they are for my donkeys - they absolutely love them![:)]
Lollie
You can buy them in the food shop at Ikea normally.
