Just to let you see the unemployment figures for various areas of France - on the front of Ouest France yesterday there was a figure for Basse Normandie which stated 40% of young people are unemployed - morale is low - on the nationwide young communists paper there are figures of 37% of young people are unemployed (about 600,000) - 20% of people below 30 years of age live below the poverty line - it's not looking too hot is it ....... what do you think the government should do? It doesn't help on the job prospects front does it .................

As always, figures like this make me sad.... what is to be done....... if I knew that, I wouldn't be sat here pondering I'm afraid.

What makes me so mad is that it is so prohibitive with the ever increasing number of and high charges for the social payments by artisans/small bosses that we just cannot take on as many employees as we really need. It is time the government and social securit got their act sorted and made it easier to create more employment by reducing these crippling charges which worry us no end every quarter as to whether our clients will pay up on time or else we get fined 10% interest for being late. I just hope that my kids will find employment when their time comes to earn a living in France.
