Biereventre
I've got a horrible feeling that I can guess what the answer will be to this, but does anyone know if there is an 'official view' in France on 'back scratching' arrangements?IE. I do some bricolage for you and you repair my car.I am guessing that they would rather we pay each other and then both pay our taxes to gov'.Thanks Paul
Merteuil2
This website talks about skill exchanges:http://fslimousin.free.fr/fsl2003/atel06.htmI was reading an article about these job exchanges (troc du travail) a couple of months ago, but can't remember exactly where. It was either in L'Express or Le Point, but I do know it was quite an old copy (late 2002/early 2003).
salamander
We were involved in a skills exchange scheme in the UK (LETS). There, the biggest (official) stumbling block was the DSS and unemployment benefit - here in France it seems to be the tax authorities. In both countries, the systems tended to flounder simply because members, having been introduced, tended to help each other out leaving the trading system out of the equation. You could just call it good neighbourliness!
