Andrewjspencer
Ma Jolie Femme (in case she reads this) is a Primary School teacher in the UK, qualified in the UK, with a French License and is a native of la belle France.Does anyone know if her qualification is recognised by the French authorities?Andy SpencerFrancophile in Essex
Mistral
I don't think her UK teaching qualification would be recognised by the education nationale. Her degree (whether Britsh or French) would be recognised, but ed nat teachers are "fonctionnaires" and have to take the civil service competitive exam.On the the other hand, it would probably be accepted by private schools (I don't know much about the private system)
Sweetpea
I too was a (made redundant!!) Primary teacher in UK: no degree (too old)When we moved to Vende, I taught in 3 primary schools here - only for about 7.5 hours per week, but the point I'm making is, I was allowed to have whole classes and even had my own classroom, and this was only to teach English, as my French is only ancient 'A' level standard. So I guess they DO acknowledge the English qualification.
