Freyjabear
I have been offered a salaried position in France (lucky me), which I am considering. At the moment, I live with my partner of quite a few years, but we are not married. He doesn't work. Under French law, as a salaried person, I will be entitled to health care, pension etc.If we were to marry, would he be entitled to health care, as my partner? Would he be entitled to anything if we had PACS?
Tourangelle
Absolutely. Whether you chose to marry or to Pacs, he would be entitled to heath care as your 'ayant droit'. That is to say, the social security (the 70%). He could almost certainly attach himself to your mutuelle, which doubtless you would get through your job, but he would have to pay extra. Well worth doing, and his not working would be taken into account so not necessarily that expensive.
