Rob G
We will be moving from the UK to the Paris region in June 2005. One of the job options I am considering is teaching English (I have a TEFL qualification). Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect as an average hourly rate for this type of work? Thanks,Rob
justinandeloise
If you go to www.anpe.fr and search professeur anglais or formateur anglais and select the region etc, a good selection of jobs will come up for English Teaching, some for TEFL qualified people, detailing the hourly rates. Make sure you get a recognised TEFL qualification - CELTA or TESOL.Hope this helps. Eloise.
Tourangelle
If you can get to the Paris branch of WH Smith they have a couple of free magazines for Parisien anglophones available that carry job advertisements some of which quote a salary. Grumpy
The anglophone magazine mentioned is called FUSAC (France USA Contacts). It is available in WHSmiths in Paris and also UK Embassy & Consulate, various Irish/Australian pubs and so on. It contains many adverts for organisations looking for TEFL qualified teachers. FUSAC also have a website where one can find outlets for the magazine. My wife taught for an organisation in Nanterre called IFOROP - they are always on the lookout for new teachers. Good luck.
