Rob G
We would like to consider the option of starting up a small home-basedbusiness here in France. Through reading various forums etc., I havepicked up that the initial and ongoing costs in terms of tax and socialsecurity charges are pretty astronomical (and then they wonder whyFrance doesn't have an "enterprise culture"....)As I really need to get to the bottom of this so that we can make upour minds whether this is an option worthy of further exploration, Iwas wondering if anyone knows of any good websites (in French orEnglish) which give clear information on tax and charges for smallbusinesses? Thanks,Rob
Will
Because there are so many variables, I would suggest you seek the advice of a good French accountant. If you have a lot of time to waste and don't want to part with money at this stage you can also look at www.apce.com and www.urssaf.fr - most of what you require is there, if you can find it. Iceni
IMHO your pyramid is standing on its point. As many ongoing costs are profit/income related worry first about what you will be doing, your market and how much that will yield gross.Johnnot
Rob G
Thanks Iceni, your advice is noted. My pyramid is not standing on itshead - I'm fully aware of the need to properly understand marketpotential, develop a business plan etc. Just trying to get a handle onsome of the likely initial and ongoing costs (in terms of orders ofmagnitude) at the outset before I get too deep in.Rob
