Jazzer
Has anyone recently been involved in a move from the UK? If so what is the going rate for tipping. Also did you tip in sterling or euros(assume first) and would a cheque be OK. Many thanks
Katieb
Hi Jazzer,we moved last year from the UK and gave our 2 removal chaps £60.00 (i think) - seems a large amount for a tip but they were very very helpful, efficiant and we even enjoyed a couple of beers with them in our (new) local bar after our worldy goods had been unloaded -saying that though i suppose £60.00 was a very small percentage to the actual removal fees.Kate
Dick Smith
What you are into here is 'a drink'. A good drink would be a score each - folding, not Gregory Pecks. Would anybody else bung them more?
Miki
Yep, a pony and a pint of Pride is what I would give if I was you [:D] Well it's a jacksy and a drink more than Dick ! [;-)]
Dick Smith
But you can't get a jacksy note, so that's a score and five nicker, which is a handfull. Right about the Pride, though.
Miki
Can't get a five pound note any more, blige me Dick, what am I gonna do with the ones in the mattress then ?
Dick Smith
Duh, I was thinking of oncers. Not jacksons. Mind, they don't last. I can't remember having one for several days now...And what's happened to your avatar? Has the vertically challenged one done something to annoy you? Gardian
Going back to your original question, we gave our 2 removal guys £120 + €50. Doesn't seem like a lot to me for people who were involved with our move for 6 working days. They made life very easy at a traumatic time. As someone said, it was a small fraction of the total bill.
