Not to South Africa.If an EU client is TVA/VAT registered in thier home state, you don't charge them VAT, but you must report the sale when doing your return. Likewsie, if you buy anything in the EU, you should not be charged TVA (but you will pay/reclaim it at the French rate). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

For example, if you are running a tourist guide service in France then you charge VAT to all customers regardless of where they live. If you are delivering to an address in the USA then you don't charge VAT even to French customers.I'm not an accountant but am in the middle of setting up a SAP financials system for a multi-national.
