J&A
Hello, Happy New Year! Can anyone tell us what certificates are required in France to run a catering trailer, we have certificates in food and hygiene - but are unsure of the laws in France. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks
Sunday Driver
As a side issue, the trailer will need its own registration and insurance to be used on the roads. If you've a French trailer then that'll be fine. If you're bringing a UK trailer over here, then there's a complex import process to go through. Val_2
You should register as a business first at the relevent Chambre who will then give you the relevent info regarding the dept of Sanitation and Hygience requisits which I must warn you here are very very strict for the sale of takeaway food. Inspection visits are frequent too as our turkish friend found out when he had complied with their strict regs on a kebab van which cost an arm and leg to comply. You are also only allowed to sell from certain places at certain times too.
J&A
Sunday driver, thank you very much for the advice, im worried now as we did bring the trailer over from England. Do you think it would be a good idea to discuss this with our local Mairie first? We are just starting out and need any advice we can get. Thank you again
