I am living in France, semi-retired on a small income from a house let in England. I would like to work one or two days a week to supplement my income. France seems as if it does not cater for people in this situation, is it true that I would have to pay the same payments as a person working full-time or is there a way of paying on what I earn ?

In the order of asking;

Yes (it is true) and no.

Your ony option is "cheque d'emploi", but you are limited in what you can do and the onus to sort it is very much on the employer, or the new scheme (TPE?) for small employers to employ people on a ad-hoc basis. I know of noone who uses this scheme.

A search might illicit a bit more information.

Good luck.
