anthony70
I left France (Paris) in November last year (after I was made redundant) and went back to the UK. I haven't managed to find a permanent job here though, and am now considering going back to France to find work. My question is: will I still be entitled to unemployment benefit (assedic) if I move back while I'm looking for work (even though I left France, and my last job there was 4 months ago)? Many thanks for your assistance,
Albert the InfoGipsy
How do the French authorities know that you 'left France', rather than taking a long trip to visit the old country? Did you fill in any forms or owt like that?
anthony70
I notified the tax office and one or two other entities (health insurance) of my new address in the UK (maybe with hindsight this wasn't clever, but I didn't want any mail to become lost...) NormanH
Normally you have to 'point' (report as available and looking for a job' each month to remain on the Assedic's ( now Pôle Emploi) books. This can be done by phone or Internet, but once you don't do it you are usually 'radié' that is to say you are struck off and have to sign on again from the beginning.
