prospect
Hi everyone just looking for some feedback, me and my family will soon be moving to Normandy. At the moment we run a very successful business working on historic buildings using lime and natural earth mortars for repointing repairs and complete restoration of buildings. Is there much call for UK specialist in this type of work. Are main business will still be running in the UK as we are always very busy.Just thought that some of the British property owners in France may like someone with this type of knowledge who they can communicate with easily. Will
Not trying to put you off, but there are many English speaking tradesmen doing this type of work in Normandy. Also the legal requirement for guarantee insurances for building work could be a problem, this is extra to the insurance you would have in England. If you only do the occasional job as a UK company working in France then you might escape this, but otherwise you are quite likely to attract the attention of the authorities who will insist on you becoming registered and insured in France, particularly if you are French resident.
