guardians
Hi,Having found this forum incredibly helpful we apologise in advance for asking yet more questions in relation to the Autoentrepeneur scheme. It might help if we explain our situation:We are both professional house and pet sitters. We are keen to move to France on a more permanent basis. We would like to register our business using the AE scheme. Our research so far seems to confirm that this would be the best option for us.However, as house and pet sitters the very nature of our work means that we move frequently from assignment to assignment with our client's home being our home base for the duration of the "sit".We do not own a property in France. Neither do we rent a property in France. We do have a base in the UK - which we do not own or rent. Can anyone advise if we will be able to register as a small business undert the AE scheme, without a permanent address in France?Any additional advice or personal experience of the scheme and setting up as a small business would be gratefully received! Thanks in advance.Tracy & Della
cooperlola
A couple cannot, ipso facto, be Autoentrepreneurs - the very fact that there are two of you, precludes you, ifaik, as the scheme is for individuals. Thus, you 'd have to just register one or the other and then if you ran into problems I'm not sure where that might leave the second person in insurance terms!I was looking at this for somebody else a while ago and what I did find were several French compaines who do this who were looking for employees. That might be a route in - ie working for somebody else with an already-established business. Yes, you'd earn less I guess, but you'd avoid some of the horribly complicated tax and insurance issues involved in setting up businesses here. Just a thought. EuroTrash
I don't think you could register on AE without a permanent address. For starters you wouldn't be able to do it online, you wouldn't be able to fill the form in. And to some extent the scheme is regionally based - you are dealt with by your 'local' URSSAF, etc. And I suspect the SIREN/SIRET number would need to be attributed to an address, I wouldn't have thought a business could be registered without a business address in any country - wouldn't fly-by-nights have a good time! just vanish into thin air when the bills came in. FYI there is a scheme whereby travellers can be 'attached' to a commune in order to register a car for example, but I doubt it would do for AE.Cooperlola's suggestion sounds best. Unfortunately, you are confirming our worst fears. Thank you though for your time and advice.Best,Tracy & Della
EuroTrash
Don't know if this link might be helpful, it sets out how to get an official address if you don't own or rent property. I looked into all this when I was thinking of fulltiming in my motorhome. A campsite is OK or as I said, you can attach to a commune where you have a connection. It's all here: http://vosdroits.service-public.fr/F13183.xhtml

EuroTrash
Hi Tracy & DellaNo I'm ashamed to say I chickened out and bought a house in the end. I live in the van 6 months a year working on campsites, not quite the same. But the dream of freedom is still there so maybe one day, who knows.
