connolls
Hi all,This is a question prompted by Daft Doctors question RE: "Post and Packing" (in earning a living)We will soon be doing our 1st Return under the AE system for our Chambres D'Hotes and wondered what to declare ??As with his question......... Do we declare our Gross income, i.e. What we charge per room or do we deduct our "costs" i.e cost of breakfast, washing electricity etc. before we declare ??Hope this is not a stupid question and will post it under the Chambres D'Hotes section too.Thank you for any information or peoples experience of this.Kind Regards Mel. Will
Under the AE system you declare your gross turnover, i.e. the income you receive, in your case from renting out the rooms and serving food. Costs are taken into account in the standard percentage of this figure on which you pay charges and taxes.
