Daft Doctor
Hi, my wife has registered her AE business and goes live on 14th May. I am aware that AEs get bombarded by companies trying to extract money for various things, including entries in directories, etc, which of course we will ignore. She received a letter yesterday from Groupe Apacil, who seem to me to be an investment company providing pension provision. I was about to chuck it in the bin until I saw 'vous avez démarches a accomplir.........notamment l'adhésion immédiate a votre enterprise a une institution de Retraite complémentaire...............cette formalité est obligatoire........I just wondered if the principal of this is right, even if there's absolute choice of who you go with? Or is it just another way of trying to get at your money, I thought the cotisation element of what you pay under AE was meant (amongst other things) to go towards building state pension provision, but although it instinctively seems highly unlikely, is extra pension provision compulsory? Many thanks for any insight.
NormanH
I belive that you have to choose a penson provider from a list. Has she already done that?I am sure Clair will be able to answer, and has posted on this before, but don't forget the specialised site http://www.startbusinessinfrance.com/index.php/forum/viewthread/509/#1429
YCCMB
It's all in here:http://www.myae.fr/faq/courrier-caisse-retraite-complementaire-auto-entrepreneur.phpIn a nutshell, bin it. If you're an autoentrepreneur and aren't employing anyone, you won't need to pay employer's contributions for retraite complementaire. As for your owns contributions, you'll automatically be registered to the appropriate caisse, but no contributions will be levied until you declare some income. More often than not, as an AE, you'll be registered with RSI. Probably best not to bin their letters, but all the others are fair game.
Val_2
The only one you need worry about is the RSI and anything to do with the Impôts. When new businesses set up in France they are given to all and sundry to bombard with offers of insurance, finance, accounting etc in fact, you get sick to death of it after a few weeks of constant mail or phone calls. Obligatoire is one of those words bandied about to make you take notice and if it is not a legal paper like the aforementioned RSI etc, take no notice. Daft Doctor
Thanks everyone, just as I suspected, it's now in the bin, to be followed no doubt by many others!
mellybelly
Hi Daft Doctor,Just to confirm what all have said, I was in the same position when I registered with AE.Got bombarded by all sorts of stuff, Groupe Mourney etc etc etc. Phone calls by the bucket load.I ignored them all and stuck with the RSI info and allocation I got from them.Just got to fill out my first paper tax return this year on forms 2042 and 2042c as far as I'm aware. That should be interesting !!Best wishes Mel.
