Fourbarewalls
We are having electricity installed into our barn by the EDF. My father is a qualified electrician and plans on doing the rest himself as he has an understanding of the rench system. Do you think this is advisable? Anton Redman
Two potential downsides :This will be a new instalation which will mean you will need to have an inspection by the "consuiel" when the work is complete. According to friends Limoges has a new recruit who according to Friends is simultaniously camp and pedantic. Things which would have been passed by other inspectors are being sighted as failures. Depth of the meter cupboard and a request to prove that the conduit went all the way through a wall ( both ends were visiable ) which had been pointed were two cases in point. In the event of an fire caused by electrical failure the insurance compnay might seek to avoid paying out wish to recover their loss from whoever did the wiring.Provided he is prepared to put the time in to ensure he complies with the detail of the regulations I do not see any other problems.
