Eddie
Our main living area is covered in pine cladding and has become darker with age - we recently bought some new which is a nice pale cream colour. I find the dark colour very gloomy. Does any one know what type of paint - available in France - is best to use on it? Or is it possible to bleach it? Pat. Liz
I know what you mean about the colour going dark. I have used an oil based silk finish paint to good effect. I have also experimented with colour washes with a thin acrylic paint to lighten it up a bit while leaving the grain showing. I think this could be successful although I have never actually used this technique as the final finish. They sell lambris in an effect called 'cerus' I think to give you an idea what I mean.I have never tried bleach. Is there an inconspicuous area you could try?
