els
We have just bought a house in South-France (15km. south of Brignoles), which need to be completely repainted. Any offers? The walls are all done in crepi. As we are no diy-peoples how do I clean it first? On the outside there are a lot of cracks, do I fill these first? Thanks for your help from a dame in distress. Els. Anton Redman
The attached link on Leroy Merlin's website, they have an Fiche( information leaflet) on exterior Crepi . You can also pick these up in store. Even if you do not read a word of French the diagrams are worthwhile. They recommend either power washer on low power or a hand pressurised pump. The containers of Crepi normally have on them the maximum size crack ( fissure) they will cover without filling the cracks first. If they are bigger in width than say your little finger I would check that the crepi was still frimly attached to the wall before repainting. If you have not done this before I suggest buying both a French DIY book and a UK title unless your French is much better than mine.http://www.leroymerlin.fr/pdf/contenu/fr/fichesconseils/peincrep.pdfhttp://www.leroymerlin.fr/html/contenu/fr/ttfiches.htmand click on Decoration and work down the options
