Daley
HiI have been reading the BBC website and watching BBC World about the current crisis in the wine industry i.e. surplus ordinary wine, just about everywhere. In light of this there must be quite a few vineyards within France that are only kept going by subsidies from the EU. Does anyone know of anyone that has taken over an exisiting loss making vineyard and turned it into something else (still in agriculture) and has received an EU grant for doing so? chris pp
Unless it was very, very small, as in tiny, that might not be an easy thing to do, Dale, unless you had several years previous experience or the required qualifications, without these it is unlikely that you would be able to either buy or work it in France. In addition, the subsidies are generally enough for both farms and vineyards to survive here.Chris
